Standings and Stats
Phil Pierce – Athletic Director
Melissa Heerdt – Asst. Athletic Director
Dominion Academy offers competitive girls interscholastic volleyball for junior high and high school students. Our program is open to all 6th through 12th grade students that wish to participate in athletics in a Christ-centered environment. We welcome homeschool students. We compete against Christian schools, private schools, public schools, and homschoole teams in the area.
Our junior high team is focused on learning the game, establishing a love for the game and building a daily routine of stretching and running. The junior varsity team is focused on team skills and improving each athlete’s strength, speed, and volleyball abilities. The objective for each varsity athlete is to approach and exceed our speed , strength, and volleyball benchmarks, improve leadership skills, master time management skills, and comptete with the intensity and grace modeled by Christ.
Formal practices begin the first of August. This time is used to build teamwork, increase endurance, and learn the game of volleyball. Our game schedule begins in late August. We use competition against other teams to refine our skills and to measure our progress as student athletes. Depending on tournament play, we typically wrap up the season towards the end of October or early November.
