<li><strong>Urgent Volunteer Need: </strong> DA is in need of someone take over the role of school <strong>Sam&#8217;s Club Shopper</strong>. The ideal candidate is someone  with a Sam&#8217;s account, or willing to obtain a Sam&#8217;s account, that can be validated as business account for making tax exempt purchases. Training will be provided. If you are interested in this ongoing volunteer opportunity, contact Mr. Figueroa at <a href="mailto:andy.figueroa@dominionacademy.org">andy.figueroa@dominionacademy.org</a> as soon as possible.</li>

<h3>Event Location and Parking</h3>
<p>This year&#8217;s Senior Ball will be held on<strong> Friday, May 18 from 6pm-11pm</strong> at the Dayton Woman&#8217;s Club located at 225 North Ludlow Street<a href="http://g.co/maps/2njyj"> (map)</a>.<em> </em> Parking is located at the PMI lot just north of the Dayton Woman&#8217;s Club.  Do not park in any other lot as your car could be towed.</p>
<h3>Ball Pictures</h3>
<p>Briana Snyder Photography will be available to take photographs of ball attendees from<strong> 5:30 until 6:15pm</strong>. If pictures at other locations are desired, please contact Mrs. Fehrman at <a href="mailto:fehrmanb@gmail.com">fehrmanb@gmail.com</a>. Fees should be paid at the time of sitting.</p>

<h2><span style="color: #800000">DA Student Art and Photography Show</span></h2>
<p>On <strong>Wednesday, May 23, from 3:15pm-5pm</strong>, the DA Studio Art and Photography students will be hosting their end of year art show. Please plan to join them in the DA atrium as they share the fruits of their labor from this school year.  Refreshments will be served.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #800000">10th Annual Non-Western History Car Wash</span></h2>
<p>On <strong>Thursday, May 24 from 9:30am-4:oopm</strong> the Non-Western History class will hold their annual <a title="10th Annual Car Wash" href="http://dominionacademy.org/stage/?page_id=2387">car wash</a> to benefit the African Goat Project. Help support our student&#8217;s desire to make a difference. Cost: a donation amount of your choice.</p>
<h2><strong><span style="color: #800000">Intramural Soccer Tournament Information</span><br />
</strong></h2>
<p>The <strong>2012 Intramural Tournament Games</strong> will begin on<strong> Saturday, May 19</strong> at Action Sports Center.  Game #1 will be the Narwhals vs. the Holligians game from<strong> 1pm-2pm</strong>.  Game#2 will be the Wiggles vs. the Falcons game from <strong>2pm-3pm</strong>.  <em>Bring your own water bottle and a pair of gym shoes in case of a thunderstorm.</em></p>
<p>The <a title="End of Season Soccer Celebration!" href="http://dominionacademy.org/stage/?page_id=2324">2012 Final Soccer Tournament Games</a> will be held on<strong> Friday, May 25 from 4pm-6pm</strong> at Action Sports Center.  There will be a<strong> Picnic and Awards Ceremony from  6-6:45pm</strong> with a <strong>Parent/Staff/Alumni Game vs. Students from 6:45-7:30pm. </strong> Student Government will provide hot dogs, burgers, and drinks.  Please bring a side dish to share and your own dinnerware and utensils.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #800000">DAPA Meeting</span></h2>
<p>All interested parents are invited to attend the next scheduled <strong>DAPA Meeting</strong> on<strong>Tuesday, May 29 at 7pm</strong>.  Elections will be held for next school year. <p><a href="http://www.aworldafair.org/">A World A&#8217;Fair, Dayton&#8217;s International Festival</a> is scheduled to take place at the <a href="http://www.daytonconventioncenter.com/">Dayton Convention Center</a> on<strong> Friday, May 18  from 5pm-11pm,  Saturday, May 18 from 11am-11pm, and Sunday, May 20 f rom 11am-6pm. </strong> It is especially meaningful because the CKREC Refugee ministry has worked with the Burundian community in the neighborhood and the Burundians are going to have a booth this year. Giving them our support by showing up at the booth is a wonderful way to show our love for these people who for many years have been marginalized. Ticket prices and other information on the event can be found <a href="http://www.aworldafair.org/">here</a>.</p>

<p>In preparation for the <strong>Senior Slide Show</strong>, please begin submitting 20-25 photos of your senior and a  song that you would like to accompany the photos. All photos and songs should be provided on a CD. All song selections are subject to approval by administration. If anyone has any technical issues please contact Mr. Mike Bayer at <a href="mailto:mbayer@woh.rr.com">mbayer@woh.rr.com</a>. In addition, any photos that have seniors hanging out together or at the school…the play, sports, coffee house, study hall, in class, would be appreciated. These will be used filler for the intro and closing song. Video clips work as well.<strong> Important:</strong> Please deposit CD&#8217;s labeled with the student&#8217;s name in the folder on the counter in the main office by <strong>May 4</strong>. Submissions after this date are not guaranteed to make the slide show presentation.</p>

<h3>National Day of Prayer Service</h3>
<p>Home school students, DA students, Parents, and friends of DA are cordially invited to attend the <a href="http://nationaldayofprayer.org/">National Day of Prayer</a> service at Dominion Academy on<strong> Thursday, May 3 from  7:45am &#8211; 8:30am.</strong> The service will consist of congregational singing, student-composed prayers, and special music.  The Emmanuel Catholic Choirs will also be sharing with us on this special day.  For more information contact Mrs. Willmann at <a href="mailto:amy.willmann@dominionacademy.org">amy.willmann@dominionacademy.org </a>.</p>

There is no serving or clean up involved. This is a great way to complete that last hour of volunteer hours before the end of the school year. <h2><span style="color: #800000;">DA Bots Competition Team News</span></h2>

<div>Our Bots Competition Team participated in the 11th DRMA Xtreme BOTS Competition on Saturday, March 31.  Including Dominion Academy&#8217;s Nighthawks, 42 teams from sixteen schools and clubs qualified and competed. With a lot of hard work on the part of the students, our technical advisors, and various volunteers, the Dominion Academy Nighthawks had a very hardy bot that performed well at the competition, especially considering this is our first year participating. Out of 42 Bots that began the competition, our Bot, DA Dragon, finished around 12th place, even coming ahead of a couple college teams. Congratulations Nighthawks!</div>

<p>Here are a few ways to save money on the DA school uniforms:</p>

<li>All orders placed at a kiosk located in the Lands&#8217; End department at Sears qualify for Free Shipping.</li>
</ul>

<li>Lands&#8217; End will be having sales throughout the spring and summer. Order the sale items at the Sears Lands&#8217; End kiosk to save money AND eliminate the shipping fees.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t forget to look at area thrift stores for serviceable navy blue, khaki, and black slacks and skirts. These items are not required to be embroidered with the DA logo and tend to be long wearing.</li>
</ul>

<li>All old style DA uniforms can be worn until they are no longer serviceable.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>If families have DA uniforms that no longer fit their students and there are no other family members who are in line to receive the uniform, consider giving the uniforms to another family who still has enrolled DA students.</li>

<h2><span style="color: #003366">Women in STEM Institute Opportunity</span></h2>
<p><span style="color: #000000">Calling all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade girls! Sinclair Community College is offering a Women in STEM Program. The <a href="http://www.sinclair.edu/organizations/wistem/">WiSTEM Institute</a> is a week of fun, hands-on activiites relating to the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Each day students will participate in lab sessions that will cover a wide variety of skills and knowledge. At the 2012 WiSTEM Institute, participants will explore the science and technology behind mobile phones and discuss their global impacts. <h4><strong>W.I.S.E. Program</strong> Presentation</h4>
<p>On <strong>Thursday, March 15 from 7:30am until 8:15am</strong>, the Montgomery Co. Prosecutor&#8217;s Office <a href="http://www.mcohio.org/WISE/educators.cfm">W.I.S.E.</a> Program will be presenting a mini seminar to DA students  in grades 7-12 on how to stay safe while using the internet. Siblings in grades 7-12 and parents are also invited to attend this special assembly. For more information, contact Dss. <h4>DA Guy&#8217;s Group</h4>
<p>High School guys are invited to the Guy&#8217;s Group on <strong>March 15 at 5:00pm.</strong> The meeting will be held at <em>609 Broad Blvd.,</em> Mr. Lecklider&#8217;s house <a href="http://g.co/maps/r8xw5">(map)</a> and food will be provided. Students who need a ride from the school can ride with Mr. Brown. <h4>Iowa Testing</h4>
<p>If you haven&#8217;t signed your extension student up for IOWA testing, be aware that testing spots are filling up quickly.  Parents of extension students who desire that their student test with DA should call Mrs. Green at 224-8555 to make a reservation. Guest registrations have begun, so if you plan to register your extension student, you should do this as soon as possible to reserve a testing spot. This year&#8217;s testing  dates are <strong>Friday, March 23</strong> <strong>from 8:30am-noon</strong> and<strong> Friday, March 30</strong> <strong>from 8:00 am until approximately 11:00 am for high school students and noon for grades 3-8.</strong>  <em>Full-time students are automatically signed up and are expected to attend testing on both days. </em>If your student is in grades 3-6, they are considered full-time for testing purposes only. Testing fees are included in all full-time and part-time student tuition.</p>
<h4>Christ the King Holy Week Services</h4>
